The FFEF is a 501 (c) (3)
non-profit corporation whose mission is to provide scholarships to FFMHS (MSAD #20) students wanting
to continue their education at a post secondary school. Working with the Maine
Community Foundation (MCF), FF Schools have aggregated
individual scholarships accounts in order to leverage the significantly higher
income available through MCF investments. MSAD #20 provides the physical location for FFEF and continues to provide administrative and support
services for the foundation.
The FFEF fund was
originally established in July of 2006 at $56,510. The Board of Directors are
currently working with a number of other families and organizations in the
community of Fort Fairfield which ultimately may allow these families and
organizations to realize a higher level of interest income in support of
scholarship giving. The fund is
anticipated to grow in excess of $150,000 in the near future.
