Maybe taken for a full or half credit.
Students who are considering attending one of the vocational high
schools in grades 11 and 12 should plan to complete the Physical Education
requirement as soon as possible.
Physical Education is set up in units, with more than one activity being
offered at the same time. In this
subject the student will have the opportunity to become aware of the need for
physical and recreational activities through a diversified program which
emphasizes physical fitness, enjoyment, appropriate behavior, individual
interests, attitudes and skills. To
accomplish the aims and objectives of the Physical Education program, the following
activities will be included:

LIFETIME ACTIVITIES This course is intended for high school students that have already met their physical education requirement. The purpose of this course is to teach the skills and promote the appreciation of selected lifetime activities, which can be utilized for fun and enhance physical, mental/emotional and social well being throughout a lifetime. Activities will include:

HEALTH Health consists largely of planned learning experiences
designed to influence knowledge, habits, attitudes and conduct in regard to
good health. The following topics will
be studied: Personal health, consumer
& community health, injury prevention & safety, Alcohol, tobacco, and
other drugs, Nutrition, environmental health, injury prevention & safety,
alcohol, tobacco, & other drugs, nutrition, environmental health, family
living, individual growth & development and communicable & chronic
diseases.
