www.commonapp.org – the common application site. This form can be used for over 255 private and public colleges.

 

http://apply.maine.edu – The On-line application for the whole University of Maine system. You can apply any of the UMaine system campuses with one application and slight modifications. Be sure to save each section before exiting.

 

www.actstudent.org – Act registration site. This site also has great  college planning and search information and practice test questions.

 

www.collegeboard.com – SAT site. This site also has great college planning and search information and practice tests questions.

 

www.fastweb.com – scholarship search

 

www.famemaine.com – college planning and scholarship information

 

www.mesfoundation.com – Scholarship site and college planning information

 

www.MyMajors.com – based on a 15 minute questionnaire, this web site suggests majors for students to consider and provides links to explore future careers.

 

We recommend you complete the FAFSA online. The error rate is much lower and the process in much quicker.

 

www.pin.ed.gov – This site allows you and your parents to sign up for an electronic signature to complete the FAFSA (Federal Financial aid form) on line.

 

www.fafsa.ed.gov – Federal financial aid form. Every student and parent should complete this form. Without it you will not be eligible for federal financial aid.

 

 College web sites are listed in the College Guide Directory. They are usually the “college name”.edu  Many colleges have electronic applications. Please be sure you can save the data you type in not just the field before you use an electronic application.
