GEAR UP at MSAD 20 strives to assist students and families from diverse backgrounds starting in grade seven to aspire to, prepare for, enroll in, and successfully complete a postsecondary education for a successful career and life.
Together, we will work effectively, in conjunction with our community, to prepare students for successful futures. We will work to expose students to a wide realm of real life, real world experiences in order to increase career awareness. As a team, we will help ensure students and their families will be supported in increasing aspirations, as well as identifying strengths and seeking avenues to further explore interests and foster personal growth.
The goal of GEAR UP Maine is to prepare students for postsecondary education by increasing:
- Academic performance and preparation for postsecondary education;
- The rate of high school graduation; and,
- Students’ and parents’ knowledge of postsecondary education options, preparation and financing.
